Charity Independence Statement

If you’re particularly eagled eyed you may have noticed recently that our charity registration number has changed and, from April 2017, we have made a small change to our name. We want to reassure our supporters that this change will not have any major impact on our supporters or indeed the patients or hospital services that we support.

The background to the changes is that prior to April 2017, the Charitable Foundation was regulated both by the Department of Health (DH) and the Charity Commission. The DH revised its policies recently to allow charities that support hospitals to be regulated solely by the Charity Commission and we have now followed this route. It should mean that in the future, we will have more flexibility to maximise the impact we can make supporting patients in Leeds. Many similar charities in the UK have done (or will be doing) the same.

All of the property, rights and obligations of the old charity have transferred to the new charity so you should notice no practical difference at all - other than the name and our new bank details which can found below.

The Leeds Hospital Charitable Foundation
Charity number: 1170369
Bank account: NatWest; 60-60-05; 55070744
